Part 2: The characteristics of well-designed places
Wednesday 9th July, 6-7pm
This session sets out the common characteristics of successful places which, if achieved, will enable us to meet planning and political objectives, as set out in the NPPF. Presentations will be followed by plenty of time for Q&A and discussion.
These sessions are aimed primarily at Councillors and elected members, but any other Kent Design members can attend to learn more about design in planning.
The aim is to help elected members ensure that our neighbourhoods are well-designed; providing much-needed homes with good access to local services and amenities.
The sessions are structured around the Design Network’s ‘Councillors Companion for Design in Planning’, and will follow the following structure:
1. Session 1 (1 hour): Planning and design – 6-7pm on Thursday 3rd July
2. Session 2 (1 hour): The characteristics of well-designed places – 6-7pm on Wednesday 9th July
3. Session 3 (1 hour): Things to watch out for – 6-7pm on Wednesday 23rd July
