Kent Design Urban Design School (Day 1): Introduction to Urban Design

Day 1 of the Urban Design School will take place online via Zoom and will focus on fundamental urban design theories and concepts. By the end of the day-long session, attendees will have a firm understanding of urban design terminology and principles. During the event, we will explore:

  • Key urban design concepts with real life examples
  • How to apply urban design principles in strategic planning
  • Assessing design in development proposals
  • The policy context for design and how to use the National Design Guide

This event will include presentations from experts working in practice, Q&A, discussion and confidence-building interactive exercises.
