Town centres and brownfield sites have potential to be sustainable locations for new development. However, they are often complex and sensitive, especially when pressure for higher density forms contrast with the existing character.

This masterclass will explore best practice in designing for town centre and brownfield sites, and how to respond to local character, with case studies of successful schemes. It will include presentations from guest speakers and an interactive group exercise.

Speakers:

Russell Curtis, Director, RCKa Architects
Tom Mitchell, Partner & Studio 0 Lead, Metropolitan Workshop
Duncan Berntsen, Senior Urban Design Officer, Medway Council
