Mandy Byatt is an award-winning novelist who writes crime fiction.

She started her debut novel Just Another Liar (Avon Books, 2022) on our online Faber Academy Writing a Novel course in 2016. Her work has been shortlisted in the Gransnet/HQ novel competition and Woman & Home short story competition as well as long-listed in the HWA/Sharpe Books Unpublished Novel Award and Orange Pathé screenwriting competition. She was winner of a Radio 5 Live monologue competition. In 2021, she completed an MA in Creative Writing (in Crime Fiction) at the University of East Anglia.

Mandy’s second novel, The Younger Woman, was published in 2023 and in 2026 she started her own publishing imprint, Maybero Publishing, to self-publish her new crime fiction series, The British Heritage Mysteries. The first book in the series, The Gallery of Bones, came out in April and the second book, The Tower of the Winds, will be published in September.
