Margareta Szabo is a BAFTA Elevate and Grierson-nominated
producer, and co-founder of Labor of Love Films. She produces emotionally
resonant, cinematic documentaries that premiere at major festivals and reach
audiences theatrically and through broadcast. Her feature documentary
trilogy, A Bunch of Amateurs, Still Pushing Pineapples and The Local (in production) explores community, identity and disappearing
cultural spaces. Multiple audience award-winner A Bunch of Amateurs received
two Grierson nominations, a Big Screen Award nomination and won Best
Documentary at Santa Barbara International Film Festival before its broadcast
on BBC Storyville; Still Pushing Pineapples was the opening
night film at Sheffield DocFest 2025. Further credits include Voices of the Sea (PBS/POV, ARTE, BBC) and Hotel Folly (BBC
Storyville).
