The Round Table | Ep One: TV Festivals (hosted by The Circle and Scribe Lounge)

First event is on TUESDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER at 1pm where we’ll be talking to Screenwriters and about TV Festivals. We want to chat about what was said, how it was structured, how much are the tickets, was it accessible and any questions you may have! 

First up is  KELLY CONDRON who is a Northern, working-class screenwriter whose drama and comedy spotlight underrepresented voices and everyday resilience. Her pilot script Late to the Party was selected as a winner at Female Pilot Club, earning a live reading by professional comedy talent in front of a public and industry audience. In 2025 she won Scribe Lounge's Elevate Competition and secured a place on the prestigious WFTV Kay Mellor Screenwriting Lab with her state-of-the-nation drama S.E.N.D Help. She has several further projects in development. Diagnosed with autism at 42, she writes with a distinctive, honest voice shaped by her own late-in-life understanding of how she sees the world, and is committed to giving working-class women, in particular, the stage they deserve.

Joining the conversation also is HELEN THOMPSON  a screenwriter, script editor and creative consultant with an MA in Scriptwriting. Alongside her own writing, she writes The Business of Screenwriting newsletter, exploring the realities of building a writing career, from industry opportunities and funding to networking, access and finding your place in the industry. She is also a podcast host, educator and script reader, and is particularly interested in impact storytelling and adaptation.

The Round Table will be a bimonthly (every other month!) honest and open conversation with fellow writers, development execs, commissioners (yeah!), producers and other industry professionals about what really matters to us all at the moment. I want real industry talk, transparent conversations, held in a safe space where we can talk openly.
